Aging & Amazing was established on August 26, 2019 by Malika Moore, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C to invest her wealth of experience and those of other professionals specializing in aging to address the shortfalls that occur around quality support, education, and preparation for aging adults, caregivers, and professionals. She envisioned transforming the experience of Aging into something that is truly Amazing!
The birth of Aging & Amazing, LLC innocently started as just an “office dream.” One late evening in a nursing home where Malika was formerly employed, she shared with Jackie Nelson, former colleague, her desire to develop an organization that brought together both her passion and purpose for serving older adults and caregivers. Malika also acknowledged the need for developing competent, compassionate professionals specializing in aging. Mrs. Nelson came to work later that week and handed Malika enough money to form Aging & Amazing, LLC. Mrs. Nelson gazed Malika intently in the eyes with money in her hand and said, “Malika, go start your business.” Mrs. Nelson also provided Aging & Amazing, LLC with its very first paid speaking engagement. Many doors have been opened since this seed was planted. Aging & Amazing, LLC continues to flourish!
Aging and Amazing has evolved over the years to include an online community, in addition to local, in-person care management and training services supporting older adults, caregivers, and professionals specializing in aging. According to the Rural Research Hub, there are more than 46 million older adults age 65 and older living in the United States; by 2050, that number is expected to grow to almost 90 million. To ensure that this growing population of older adults has the resources and information necessary to thrive through the many changes that occur with aging. Aging & Amazing offers a helping hand to uplift older adults, caregivers, and professionals through services, education, and support.
